A valid passport and visa are required to travel to Australia.

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank passport page available for the Australian visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Australian visa stamps.

Australia Visa Application Form:

One signed Australia visa application form. After placing your order, fill out the application forms included in your Visa Application Kit.

Other Forms:

Diplomatic note from the US State Department providing: confirmation that employee has been assigned to take up duties at the foreign mission in Australia; and job title, proposed duties, proposed period of posting; and Person being replaced at the foreign mission in Australia. List of any accompanying dependents. Please note that there are limits as to whom may be accepted as members of the family or staff posted to the foreign missions in Australia, and restrictions apply for children once they have reached 21 years of age. Unless very special circumstances exist, a child who is 21 years old but not more than 25 years is accepted as a member of the family only if they are undertaking full-time full-fee overseas student studies at an Australian tertiary institution in the city where the officer is posted, and provided that they remain part of the officer's household.

Visa Validity:

Australian Diplomatic and Official visa validity is at the discretion of the Australian Consulate.

The US State Department strongly encourages American citizens planning international travel to register with the US Embassy(s) in the countries they plan to visit. Registration notifies the US Embassy in each country of your travel plans and enrolls you in the State Department travel advisory and warnings program. Feel more secure about your international travels by having Travisa register your trip with the US Department of State; simply complete the form on your visa application kit after placing your order.

Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.
