Temporary Entry Suspension: Please be advised that Australia has suspended entry for all nationalities until further notice. This does not apply to citizens and residents of Australia. This is a rapidly changing situation. Travisa is monitoring the situation closely so check our website for updates.

Transit Regulations

Visa exempt for a stay of up to 8 hours. The traveler must:

  • Hold a passport valid for at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
  • Hold proof of sufficient funds
  • Hold proof of onward/return flights
  • Hold all documents required for the next destination
  • Hold visa for next country where applicable
  • Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
  • Arrive and depart on the same calendar day if transiting at Cairns (CNS) or Sydney (SYD) airport 
  • Arrive and depart on the same aircraft if transiting at Adelaide (ADL) airport
  • Not arrive at Gold Coast (OOL) airport, as there are no transit facilities available

Visa Conditions

Applicants who have a criminal record or have been deported or removed from any country may not be eligible for a visa exemption and must contact the Embassy directly for confirmation.

Register your trip with the US Embassy:

The US State Department strongly encourages American citizens planning international travel to register with the US Embassy(s) in the countries they plan to visit. For just $20.00 per traveler, Travisa will complete the State Department Registration for the applicant. Official notifications about travel advisories and warnings will be sent to the traveler registered.
